Our
history

We are transported to the Atlantic coast and more specifically to Port des Barques, in the Marennes-Oléron basin, at the entrance to the Charente estuary, opposite the island of Aix and Fort Boyard.

It was then, in 1975, that Claudie Seguin, only 16 years old, decided to embark on the adventure of cultivating and maturing oysters. Together with his wife Caroline, they are constantly perfecting their techniques to offer high quality oysters in a protected natural environment, characterised by moderate salinity and the rich nutritional supply of the Charente river.

For almost 40 years, they have been constantly striving to pass on their passion and respect for this exceptional product. In 2012, their son Jérémy, at the age of 20, joined the family business, carrying on the legacy with a combination of innovation and tradition. He has lived, since his earliest childhood, immersed in the family’s oyster farming activity.

Today, together with a committed team, they produce top quality oysters, appreciated by the best fishmongers and renowned restaurants in France.

Each generation has its own dream and undertakes its own adventures. Jérémy Seguin‘s is to carry his family’s legacy around the world, exporting Seguin Oysters to many countries.
